About Us
The Bristol Classic Car Show originated in 1980 in the original exhibition centre by the docks in Bristol when its creator Nigel Stevens came up with the idea of constructing scaffold ramps to enable cars to drive up to the first floor. When the exhibition centre closed the show was held under canvas for 2 years before moving to its current home at The Royal Bath and West Showground. The show is renown for its friendly atmosphere where enthusiasts gather to show and discuss their passion for vintage and classic cars. The Bristol Classic Car Show also organises The Autumn Autojumble and Automart which occurs early in November and has in the past contained a restoration show and the organisers are hoping to stage the restoration part of the event again in 2009 but this year it is a one day autojumble. The Bristol Classic Car Show and The Autumn Autojumble and Automart are sponsored by Footman James the specialist Insurance broker for all Classic vehicles, the events are also supported by Classic Car Weekly and Classic Motor Monthly and Autojumbler.
