Attractions We are delighted to welcome a full array of car clubs to this year's show. Please see below for an insight into the various themes of their displays. We would also like to offer a special mention to those marques, models and clubs who are joining us at the show to celebrate their landmark anniversaries: 100th anniversary of Jowett 70th anniversary of the Wolseley Hornet 50th anniversary of the Morris Register car club 50th anniversary of the Rochdale Owners Club 40th anniversary of the Hillman Avenger 25th anniversary of the Rover P5 Club Club stands 2CV GB Organisers are calling this stand the ‘dream' 2CV garage. The club display will feature several very rare variants of this popular classic. The highlight will be this previously unseen 1957 2CV van. Built in Slough and restored over 30 years, it is the only restored vehicle of its type. Space allowing, the team is also hoping to display a ‘modern' development, or a unique French pick-up
Daimler & Lanchester Owners Club Pride of place is the 1955 Daimler Conquest Roadster. The first time it has been on display at this show, this Daimler is one of only 60 ever manufactured. Producing 100bhp, this 100mph classic is one of only a handful on UK roads today. Together with its rare fully-automatic gearbox, it has illuminated masts on the rear wings, which were marketed as and aid to lady drivers whilst reversing.
Somerset and District Car Club During the last few months, Top Gear has destroyed two perfectly good Marinas and an MG Maestro. As an act of defiance, the club will exhibit two very rare cars: a Morris Marina 1300 Automatic; and a MG Maestro 1600. The display is aptly called 'The ones that got away'. The display will also feature full-size cardboard images of Clarkson, May and ‘the Hamster' deliberating how to best destroy the cars, from a selection of angle grinders, mallets and mock explosives. Austin Healey Club The sensational 1960 AH3000 Mk2I on display has already won the National Concourse. The team is also hoping to bring a Frogeye Sprite and the Austin Healey Endurance Car that has just captured the 4-cylinder speed record for the 1000Km, at an average speed of 148.5mph. Rochdale Owners Club Their theme will be 50th anniversary of the launch of its most famous model, the Rochdale Olympic. There will be three examples on display, including the third to be delivered out of a total production of about 400. Classic & Historic Motor Club This year the theme is Classic & Historic on Tour in France. The team hope to display four cars on the stand; one being a pre-war French Citroen traction saloon. Avenger and Sunbeam Owners Club The club will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Hillman Avenger. Jensen Owners Club The team is hoping to adopt a ‘day out in the country' picnic/fishing theme, complete with 1930s clothing and, at its heart, the only 1935 Jensen Woody in existence. Riley Motor Club The theme will be ‘The Life of Riley', which maps Rileys, and their famous owners, from the pre-war years until the end of production. Triumph Sports Six Club The club hopes to recreate the motor show stand from the first Bristol Classic Car Show, back in1960, with early Triumph Herald coupés and, possibly, a TR3. Jaguar Enthusiasts Club The club will feature the Jaguar XJS in a theme of ‘The future Jaguar classic'. Triumph Car Club Two modified Triumph 2000s will form the centrepiece of their ‘sporting saloon cars' theme. MK1 Cortina Owners Club The club's theme will be ‘the 60s fast Ford'. The Wolseley Register Their theme is a celebration of 70 years of the Wolseley Hornet. Jowett Car Club As this is Jowett's centenary year, the club's theme will be a celebration of it's 100 years. 200/400 Owners Club The theme for the stand is the 21st year of the Rover R8. Stag Club This year's show will follow one of two themes. The first is a picnic scene, with the Stag cars out in the countryside with a Maypole. The other option is the procreation from a wreck to a fully-built show car. Morris Register In this Golden Jubilee year, the club's stand will be themed to reflect 50 years of club activity. Austin Ten Driver's Club Somerset & Southwest Their theme will be 'A Day at the Fair' Three Counties Vintage & Classic Car Club The stand theme will be a ‘BBQ at Kimmeridge', a small bay in Dorset. Rover P5 Club The club will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. Classic Hearse Register Their theme will be 'classic hearses from around the world'. |
