The Best of the West

Our centrepiece is a special display in the main hall, featuring the region's leading nine vehicle restorers.

This ‘Best of the West' display will feature fully restored vehicles and ongoing projects with the experts who will show visitors exactly how much can be achieved through highly skilled professional work.

Blue Diamond Services
...from Langport, Somerset, have specialised in pre-1940 Riley cars for the past 35 years. They undertake complete mechanical restoration, high quality engine and unit repair, and overhaul work as well as routine servicing. Over the years, they have rebuilt and worked on a wide range of sports, saloon and touring cars, and have built and rebuilt a number of sports and racing specials.

Their 'New Pre-war Parts List' has been developed and expanded over the years and is well known to pre-war Riley owners throughout the world.

Bristol Classic & Sports Cars Limited
...was established in Clevedon in 1991, and they provide a high quality in house restoration service facility for enthusiasts, investors and collectors. The team offer classic car owners everything from a service to a full restoration.

Current projects include a Messerschmitt and a 1953 Sunbeam Alpine sports which they plan to show at the Footman James Bristol Classic Car show in May. We are just finishing a Jaguar XK150 total restoration and are in the early stages of restoring a 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk.

Devon Classic Cars
...provide a complete service in classic and period cars from restoration to sales. Based at Ermington, Devon they have a unique selection of classic vehicles ranging from the 1930s to 1980s. Their comprehensive workshop allows them to carry out significant restoration projects on all marques of classic cars, specialise in complete restoration and mechanical rebuilds, along with bespoke upholstery and trim finishing.

Dubmonkeys
...is a young and exciting business, made up of hardcore Volkswagen enthusiasts. They were set up five years ago in Tavistock, Devon, to create a one-stop-shop for air-cooled Volkswagens. Their work - which always draws a crowd - includes Campers, Beetles, Karmann Ghias, and hybrids, such as the Fridolin.

The multi-award winning company has taken top prize for excellence at various shows in 2009, and more than 30 over the course of their short lifetime.

Latifa International Estates
...started in 1904 as specialists in buildings and machinery for the farming and motor garage trade. Since the mid-70s, their name has been a byword in world of classic Fiats. Based in Winscombe, Somerset, they currently specialise in the restoration of Fiat 500s, and offers a worldwide parts service for many other classic Fiats.

The firm has diversified into other areas, and also: provides a wedding service; supplies film for television; and can also offer customers a video film package of their car.

Mark Danes Limited
...has more than 20 years experience in the acquisition, restoration and sale of high quality classic and sports cars from the post war era.

Based minutes from the show ground, in Shepton Mallet, the team all run their own classics, so pride themselves on an understanding of what is needed to make classic car ownership rewarding, practical and enjoyable.

They also buy, hoard and occasionally sell rare and elusive parts for Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Triumph, Jaguar, MG and some other models.

Revington TR
...from Middlezoy, Somerset, has been established for over twenty years. Their name has become synonymous with the Triumph TR sports cars, specifically with the supply of high quality standard and modified parts. Over the years, they have designed and produced a myriad of modifications for TR owners, and are committed to the reintroduction of obsolete and rare parts.

Fred Body
...is an internationally-acclaimed restorer, and we are delighted that he can join us. His firm, Sherwood Farm Enterprises, has been restoring cars for 30 years, and lead the world in the field of early MGs.

The family-run business takes on everything and everything from their base in Axbridge, Somerset; from windscreen wipers to full vehicle restoration. Fred and his team will be showing a finished 1940s MG TC, and their working project, a 1930 Lagonda.

Vintage and Sports Car Services
...is run by Tim and Anne Whellock out of Chard, Somerset. They specialise in the restoration, repair, servicing and refinishing of vintage and sports cars. If it's fluids you are after, then these are the people to speak with. Their popular online shop stocks a range of special lubricants and fuel additives, together with radiator, engine and gearbox treatments.

When they are not in the workshop, Tim and Ann enjoy vintage and sports car motorsport competitions, specifically long-distance classic reliability trials, speed hill climbs and classic car navigational runs.
